How To Choose A Barber In Las Vegas

Posted Winter 2025 · By the Texture Team

Choosing a barber is a relationship decision, not a transaction decision. The right barber will know your hair better than you do within three appointments. The wrong barber will leave you cycling shops for years. Here's how to make the call.

Step one: look at their portfolio. Most barbers post their work on Instagram. Find a barber whose portfolio actually contains the kind of cut you want — not 'similar' cuts, the actual style. If their feed is all skin fades and you want a side part, that's not your barber.

Step two: book a consult cut, not a full transformation. Your first appointment with a new barber should be a refresh of your current style, not a complete overhaul. This lets you evaluate their technique and consultation skills without betting your whole look on it.

Step three: pay attention to how they listen. Great barbers ask questions you didn't know to ask. They notice cowlicks, growth patterns, and density issues you never thought about. If your consultation feels generic, the cut probably will too.
